Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Dr Pooja:

Talk us through your background and your journey, please;

My journey started from the age of 16. My healing journey started at the age of 16 and was recognized as a Youth Icon & youngest master healer.

After that, I set up my entrepreneurial venture Vishwas Healing Centre in early 2000. I have been in the Wellness Industry for the last 22 years.

I am dedicated to empowering individuals to re-discover their inner strengths to cope with illnesses, stresses and tensions.”

I believe in integrating spiritual and psychological techniques, using an integrated approach towards mental health and the overall wellness of an individual.

How difficult/challenging is it to create awareness about mental health, especially in Indian societies?

At that time when I started with psychology, mental health was taboo. The situation is better now, but still, people find it difficult to accept.

Even today, people find it difficult to even acknowledge that they have problems. Parents don’t accept that their child is suffering but instead try to suppress it. And that is one of the biggest challenges.

Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?

It’s my clients who motivate me. Every session that I take, energizes me and helps me keep going.

No matter what may be going on in my life, I find when I am taking sessions I am always rejuvenated after that.

Our audience would love to know about your future plans?

My vision is that people have psychological awareness, that People are empowered and knowledgeable enough to not only help themselves but also their family members and society. I wish to see one healer in every home.

My dream is to help people recognize their own strengths. To spread awareness about psychology, spirituality and healing and how parenting can make a difference for today’s generation. Our Spiritual Campaign is one step towards that.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

For me, it’s my clients who are the biggest motivation. Every session is different for me. I never take reference from any previous client’s session, because every individual is different and has different needs.

My father has also been the biggest motivation in my life. Whether personal or professional he has been there at every step.

In your opinion, what are the keys to success?

For me, the first key to success is competing with yourself only. You are your own competition. The next thing to remember is to always work on increasing self-efficiency.

Mental health issues are rising in the workplace. Would you like to see big companies arrange for people to speak to people like yourself to reduce that problem?

I believe that is an important step towards mental wellness and companies should be working towards their employees mental health. Conducting such talks will definitely be a step in the right direction.

What steps can companies take for their employees? Are there any specific programs at Vishwas Healing Centre for corporates?

Beyond the workshops or training programs, related to leadership, team building etc, it is important to take care of their individual health as well.

Companies today have various options. They can conduct offline or online events for their employees. Certain therapies like Art Therapy, Emotional Decoding, Love paradise, and many more programs are conducted by Vishwas Healing Centre. We also provide special acknowledgement to the institutions that work towards their employees’ mental health.

What are your ongoing projects?

Right now, I am working on several projects. Some of them are –

Project on Anxiety and OCD – we have seen a major increase in the number of anxiety and OCD cases since COVID. Through this project, we are working ok spreading awareness on how to deal with it.

Psychosexual disorders, –  this project, focuses on spreading awareness about what are psychosexual disorders, how they impact relationships and how they are not gender specific and how counselling and healing therapies helps.

Fertility –  Though there are various reasons for infertility, this project focuses on How alternative healing modalities and therapies can help a person deal with the psychological and emotional aspects of it.

Along with these, we are also focusing on several projects and programs in regards to corporates.
