Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Garima:
Tell us about your early life and professional background.
In the words of Nido Qubein “Change brings Opportunity” and in Tony Robbins’s words “Change is inevitable. Evolution, however is optional.
These two quotes has been my life’s mantra.
Soon after completing college, I began my professional journey in the Retail industry, where I had the opportunity to work closely with brands & buyers from various parts of the country/world. The role of a Merchandise Manager, my work involved translating design ideas into finished products, coordinating with factories, and managing deliveries across continents.
This experience laid the foundation of my professional journey and two powerful lessons were learnt – “Knowledge alone isn’t enough—Impact Matters” and second “Impact comes when your actions are as strong as your skills”.
Then came a beautiful pause—Motherhood. Moving to Pune and then to Mumbai reshaped my world, and corporate life was no longer aligned with my new reality. This change gave me an opportunity to reflect and re-evaluate myself and led me into a new world of entrepreneurship and an educator.
This role gave an option of combining my passion for creativity alongside nurturing of young minds. Working with teenagers and college students to build emotional awareness and prepare them for corporate life.
Yet, a quiet voice within me kept whispering—you’re meant for something more creative, more transformational.
That whisper led to my second innings as an Image Consultant and Soft Skills Trainer. Today, my work extends beyond classrooms, training halls, boardrooms and one-on-one coaching spaces.
One day I guide teenagers toward emotional awareness; another day I help students step confidently into the corporate world; and on other days, I work with professionals on communication, confidence, and presence.
Each interaction adds meaning to my journey – and I continue to evolve with every person I work with.
How did you discover your passion for coaching and training?
Across cities—Delhi, Pune, and Mumbai—and across roles, I noticed one consistent gap: people had talent but struggled to communicate it effectively and present themselves with confidence.
When I moved to Mumbai, that observation turned into a belief. My conversations with people increasingly revolved around confidence, communication, and presence. That’s when I understood—this was my strength, my calling.
My transition into training wasn’t a sudden shift but a natural progression. I invested deeply in learning and upskilling—completing certifications in Image Management, Soft Skills, CFTP, and becoming an NLP Practitioner.
The journey was never about changing industries, cities, careers ; it was about continuing what I believe in and has always done—i.e Impact comes when your actions are as strong as your skills and this is where helping people discover their confidence, clarity, and true potential.
‘Halonix Excellence’ is such a unique name; talk us through more about it, please. Our audience would also love to know what kind of problem you are solving?
The name Halonix blends the essence of Halo, representing light and clarity, with Phoenix, symbolising renewal and the courage to rise stronger from the ashes. Together, they reflect our belief in growth, transformation, and conscious excellence.
Halonix Excellence represents a journey of illuminating potential and enabling individuals and professionals to show up as their best, most confident selves — intentionally, authentically, and consistently.
Rooted in the belief that true excellence begins from within, the brand focuses on aligning inner clarity with outer presence through:

What is the biggest source of motivation?
I believe every individual carries immense potential. Often, all they need is the right direction and a little belief to unlock it.
My motivation comes alive in the outcomes I witness. When a student I’ve coached for interview preparation calls to say they feel confident—and have secured a role they once doubted themselves for—or when a leader shares how their presence, client interactions, or meeting impact has transformed, I’m reminded that the work is creating the impact I set out to make.
I am also deeply inspired by the people around me—my mother, my first teacher, who taught me resilience not through instruction but through the way she lives.
Second, my husband. My husband, who believed in my dream before it had a name. He has always been my backbone—supporting me, believing in me, and standing by me through every phase of my journey. They are like the wind beneath my wings, giving me strength when I needed it most.
I can proudly say that this is not just my brand; it is our brand. We have worked together to grow, to excel, and to make this brand what it is today.
What strategies have helped you grow as a person?
When it comes to strategy, I wouldn’t describe myself as purely strategy-driven. Instead, I believe in a few strong guiding principles that have helped me grow consistently over the years.
First, I have always invested in myself. I strongly believe there is no age for learning, so I continuously focus on upskilling at every stage of my journey. This ongoing learning allows me to add new layers to my coaching and training—mentally, spiritually, and physically—so that I can support people at deeper and more holistic levels.
In fact, after entering the training and coaching space, my passion for learning has multiplied manyfold. It keeps me engaged, relevant, and constantly evolving, both as a professional and as a person.
Faith shapes the way I see life. I believe that when a dream takes root in your heart, it’s a sign you’re meant to pursue it. The path reveals itself in time; our role is to show up with sincerity and stay true to our values.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
The most important driver of long-term success is resilience. Success is rarely immediate, and growth is seldom linear. For this reason, I live by a simple philosophy: Fall. Pause. Rise.
Every professional journey includes setbacks. There will be moments of disruption, delay, and uncertainty—often at unexpected times. Equally, there will be opportunities to recover, learn, and move forward with greater clarity and strength.
I strongly believe in trusting consistent effort. Meaningful progress is not always visible in the short term, but disciplined work compounds and delivers results over time.
Finally, it is essential to avoid comparison. As the saying goes:
“Never compare your step two with someone else’s step twelve.”
Each career path is unique. Stay committed to your objectives, trust your process, and continue to progress in your own way.
What advice would you give to our readers?
My advice is simple: believe in your vision.
It is natural to question whether our aspirations will materialise. But when a dream takes shape in your mind, it does so for a reason. Your responsibility is not to question the outcome, but to commit to the process with discipline, integrity, and consistency.
There will be setbacks and periods of uncertainty. These are not indicators of failure, but essential phases of growth. Each challenge builds perspective, resilience, and leadership maturity.
Stay the course. Trust the process. Your progress will compound, and your moment will come.
