Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Garima:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
My journey began with a simple vision: to heal everything I touched. After a decade in the corporate and start-up world, I found myself worn out and disillusioned with the relentless hustle culture.
My body had been whispering to me for years—through exhaustion, unease, and restlessness—that my rhythm was out of sync with the demands of my work environment. On the surface, I had stability: a steady job, fixed hours, a monthly salary, and the predictability of annual raises. Yet beneath that mask of routine, something felt deeply misaligned.
Every morning arrived with dread—palpitations at the thought of endless meetings, a mounting to-do list, and the silent pressure to perform perfectly.
One morning, as I lay in bed unable to summon the will to begin the day, a question surfaced within me: “Is this the life you truly want to keep building?” I had just turned 30—a milestone age that, for me, became a turning point. Within months, I chose to resign, with no backup plan in sight—only a quiet knowing that I could no longer continue as before.
I returned to what had always been my anchor—my spiritual practices. Having volunteered with The Art of Living since my late teens, that ecosystem had been my refuge in times of crisis.
Immersing myself once again, I assisted in yoga trainings, and gradually, clarity and vitality returned. Soon after, new opportunities began to unfold—pathways of learning and healing I hadn’t even imagined.
In the years that followed, I immersed myself in multiple modalities: Classic Yoga (350H), Transpersonal Regression Therapy, Advanced Inner Child Healing, Systemic & Family Constellations, Inherited Family Trauma Resolution, Business Constellations, Craniosacral Therapy, Advanced Emotional Freedom Technique, Neuro Linguistic Programming, and Marma Therapy.
Some came sequentially, others simultaneously, each weaving itself into the tapestry of my work and my being. Through my own deep inner work and sustained spiritual practices, The Begin Within Movement took form, and from it emerged The Restfulness Method—an integration of everything I had lived, learned, and embodied.
Today, by choosing to honour my truth and follow what I have always loved, I guide people through their most challenging moments, helping them reclaim their voice, reconnect with their inner power, and return to themselves with resilience and grace.
How did you discover your passion?
Suffering has been my greatest teacher. As Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar often reminds us, “Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.” Pain touches every human life—it is the one experience we all share .
Yet it cannot be measured or compared, for each person carries and responds to pain in their own unique way. On one level, pain brings suffering; on a deeper level, it expands us, creating the inner space to hold greater joys.
Since childhood, I have carried a quiet gift—the ability to sense the emotions of those around me. Often, without asking, people would find themselves sharing their heaviest griefs and most hidden stories in my presence. All I did was sit with them, patiently and openly, and something within them felt safe enough to unfold.
It was less about passion and more about an innate gift—a natural sensitivity to my surroundings, to people, and to nature as a whole. Coupled with a deep curiosity to see beyond what is visible on the surface, this sensitivity gently guided me toward the field of holistic psychotherapy.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
Sudarshan Kriya, hands down! I am actually an advanced practitioner, so I combine it with a yoga routine called Padmasadhana and a few other advanced techniques that I have learnt with Gurudev over a span of almost two decades.
The human mind, by nature, fluctuates. And when working closely with core trauma, it is natural to absorb traces of residual emotions. This is why a consistent spiritual practice becomes essential—it builds a kind of inner immunity for the mind. For me, these practices have been the most effective and sustaining.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?
1) Every block is a resource. Every crisis, a portal.
2) Embracing the chaos is a secret ingredient to bliss. Trust yourself – your body, your mind and most importantly, your instincts. And utilise them.
3) Polarities, the opposites happiness and sadness, are incomplete without one another.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
a) Being authentic means being true to yourself.
b) It begins with something as simple as listening to your body, which in turn guides you toward your own inner voice.
c) The world around us is full of shifting opinions—they change with time and circumstance. But when we are rooted in our own authenticity, no storm has the power to shake us.
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
Work on building, listening and trusting your intuition.
Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?
The ability to serve—and to witness that tear of relief transform into a smile after a burden is released—makes every challenge, every bit of hard work, profoundly worthwhile.
