Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Neeta:

Can you share the story behind how you started your journey as a soft skills trainer and what inspired you to launch your own practice?

My journey into soft skills training evolved naturally through my work with people over the years. Early in my career in sales and professional development, I realised that success was rarely determined by technical knowledge alone. The real differentiator was communication, confidence, and the ability to connect with people.

I often observed talented individuals struggling not because they lacked knowledge, but because they lacked clarity in expression or confidence in presenting their ideas. Over time, I began mentoring students, guiding professionals, and counselling young learners.

Gradually, this work became more than a profession—it became a purpose. That realisation led me to establish my own training practice through TrainPro Ventures, with the vision of building confident and capable individuals through human skills development.

What was the “aha moment” that made you realise communication and human skills would be the core of your business?

The turning point came when I noticed a common pattern across different groups—students, professionals, and even leaders. Many had strong academic qualifications but struggled with interpersonal communication, collaboration, or confidence.

That moment made me realise that communication and human skills are the invisible drivers of success. If individuals develop clarity of expression, emotional intelligence, and confidence, they can transform not only their careers but also their relationships and leadership abilities. That insight shaped the direction of my work.

How do you define your mission, and how has it evolved since you started?

My mission is to help individuals discover their potential and express it with confidence and authenticity. Initially, my focus was primarily on communication skills. However, as my work expanded, I realised that communication is deeply connected to mindset, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence.

Today, my mission is broader: to help people develop the human capabilities that allow them to thrive in a rapidly changing world. In an age of automation and artificial intelligence, strengthening our human qualities has become more important than ever.

What unique value does your training and consulting offer that differentiates you from other soft skills trainers?

My training approach focuses on transformation rather than simply transferring knowledge. I integrate experiential learning, reflection exercises, real-life simulations, and behavioural insights to help participants understand themselves more deeply.

Participants do not just learn techniques; they gain awareness about their communication patterns, their strengths, and areas of growth. This human-centred approach ensures that the learning stays with them long after the session ends.

Your website highlights a human-centred approach to communication and growth. How did you develop this philosophy?

The philosophy developed through years of working closely with people across different age groups—from students and educators to corporate professionals. I realised that every skill begins with self-awareness. Communication is not simply about words; it reflects our thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and values.

Therefore, instead of teaching communication as a mechanical skill, I approach it as a human process. When people understand themselves better, their communication naturally becomes clearer, more confident, and more authentic.

TrainPro Ventures is a key initiative on your website. What gap in the market does it address?

TrainPro Ventures was created to address a gap between theoretical learning and practical capability. Many training programs provide information, but they often lack real-world application.

At TrainPro Ventures, the focus is on building practical capability through structured training programs, simulations, and reflective learning. The goal is to help individuals move from knowledge to performance—whether they are students preparing for careers or professionals seeking to enhance their leadership and communication abilities.

Tell us more about your ‘Train the Trainer’ certification program. Who is it for and what outcomes can participants expect?

The Train the Trainer Certification is designed for individuals who want to step into the world of training, facilitation, and professional development.

It is suitable for aspiring trainers, educators, HR professionals, coaches, and subject experts who want to share knowledge effectively. The program focuses on training design, adult learning principles, facilitation techniques, and presentation mastery.

Participants leave the program with both the confidence and the practical framework required to design and deliver impactful learning experiences.

Your book Irreplaceably Human is part of your thought leadership. How does it tie into your training work?

Irreplaceably Human explores a powerful idea—that while technology continues to evolve rapidly, the qualities that make us human remain invaluable. The book highlights attributes such as empathy, creativity, ethical thinking, and emotional intelligence.

These ideas are deeply connected to my training work because I believe that the future belongs to individuals who combine technical expertise with strong human capabilities.

How do you balance practical skill training with mindset and behaviour change in your sessions?

In my sessions, I follow a three-layer approach: understanding, application, and reflection.

First, participants understand the concept and its relevance. Then they apply it through activities, role plays, and simulations. Finally, they reflect on their own behaviour and communication patterns. This approach ensures that learning moves beyond information and becomes a meaningful personal transformation.

Who is your core audience?

My work spans both individuals and organisations. I work with students preparing for professional careers, corporate teams, educators, and aspiring trainers.

The feedback I hear most often is that participants feel more confident, more self-aware, and better equipped to express their ideas clearly after the training.

What challenges do organisations face today that they often don’t realise soft skills can solve?

Many organisational challenges—miscommunication between teams, customer relationship issues, low engagement, and leadership gaps—are actually rooted in human skill deficiencies.

Strengthening communication, emotional intelligence, and collaboration can significantly improve organisational culture and performance.

As a founder and trainer, what has been your biggest challenge in scaling your business?

One of the biggest challenges has been maintaining quality while expanding reach. Training is deeply personal work, and ensuring consistent impact across programs requires strong systems, thoughtful program design, and the right partnerships.

What is one mistake you made early on that taught you a valuable lesson?

Early in my journey, I believed that expertise alone would attract opportunities. Over time, I realised that visibility and positioning are equally important. Communicating your value clearly and building a strong professional presence are essential for growth.

Where do you see your business in the next three to five years?

In the coming years, I envision TrainPro Ventures expanding its impact through trainer certification programs, leadership development initiatives, and thought leadership through books and workshops.

The goal is to build a network of capability builders—professionals who can train, mentor, and inspire others.

What motivates you personally every day?

What motivates me is the transformation I see in people. Watching someone gain confidence, articulate their ideas clearly, or discover their potential is incredibly fulfilling. It reminds me that training has the power to shape lives.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a business in training or professional development?

My advice would be to focus on depth and authenticity. Build strong expertise, design learning experiences that create real transformation, and remain committed to continuous learning.

Training is a powerful profession because it shapes human growth. When approached with sincerity and purpose, it becomes more than a business—it becomes a mission.
