Shivaji Bhonsle (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj) was an Indian warrior king and a part of Bhonsle Maratha clan. Shivaji shaped out an enclave from the declining Adilshahi sultanate of Bijapur that made the beginning of the Maratha Empire.
