Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Barkha:

Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

Your image is what people talk about you when you’re not in the room. I enable individuals and groups to enhance their overall personality development by empowering them inside out.

I always had a knack for improving appearance, behaviour and communication. Looking forward to playing a role in helping people to stand up, get noticed, and inspire confidence in others, in their personal, professional and social life.”

My whole journey so far has helped me encourage people to be their best versions and appreciate their own self-worth to best fit in their own shoes before vouching for the world. This career has pushed me to cross-pollinate ideas across a wide variety of industry sectors, including everything under the sun.

After my Bachelor’s in 2019 from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, I immediately joined them as a mentor (teacher/trainer), contributing to the growth of students by inheriting values and morals by means of education and training. Simultaneously, I worked with Virender Kumar & Associates (CA Firm) as I was pursuing CA back then.

Currently, I switched my professional journey to coaching, mentoring and training individuals and groups for leading the globe to make it a better place for tomorrow by uplifting them as well as their surroundings. I prefer to introduce myself as Personality Enhancement Coach (Image Consultant + Soft Skills Trainer) and this helped me span a wide variety of markets from one-on-one consultation to corporate trainings.

How did you discover your passion as a ‘Coach’?

Having discovered myself as a mentor to co-students and then to my junior at college, I continued to serve them honorary at Dayalbagh Educational Institute for 4 years now.

Watching me grow and escalate myself in this zone, I took up Image Consulting and Soft Skills Training as my core to handhold the mankind to make the best first impressions that last forever.

I have taken up numerous projects in my areas of interest ranging from one-on-one consulting to corporate training.”

In due course of time, these initiatives helped me identify the areas of my core passion – overall personality enhancement of each individual (360 degree makeover). It was essentially about arriving at a just to explore what really resonated with my personality and life choices.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

Empowering and challenging the stereotypical myths about fashion, beauty, and grooming to have self-awareness and courage to do their own therapy to live a life of respect, dignity and treat others with the same ethical principles is my drive to work in this field.

I believe in sharing peace with filling in the gaps and pieces in individuals. Making them see the light of their own, self-identifying, self-acceptance and counting on self is what I impart in people.

I believe all the people are capable of change and change is the only constant to be appreciated and accepted. It is important to understand people are shaped by their experiences and circumstances.

We at “The Barkha Singh” envision a world in which all people have access to be their finest versions to achieve their visions that can help them improve their mental, emotional and physical health and achieve harmony. Healing themselves first and then later promoting healthier families and communities.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

My life changed around when I saw that change is something which we cannot expel and I started accepting everything which came my way and graced me with abundance of love, peace and satisfaction. My parents have always taught me this trick to lead a beautiful and healthy life: acceptance.

During lockdown, I had the honour of sharing my mother with the ultimate power (god), due to which my bubble of imagination took a practical path towards my journey on acceptance and choosing a career which will not only help people be their best impressions but also me.”

Brand “The Barkha Singh” is not only working towards people in their professional lives but also, personal and social lives.

What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?

There are a few:

> Being mindful of the choices we make

> Always being resourceful and network

> Taking extreme ownership and responsibility for my actions and facing the hurdles with grace

> Ability to take risks & venture into uncharted territories.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

Success for me is an atom. Satisfaction is the whole key! For me being successful is insufficient but to fulfil the fragments we must have key elements, for me these are the ones:

(a) Accepting & Loving myself.

(b) Responsibility for my actions

(c) Standing up for myself

(d) Resourcefulness

(e) Curiosity

(f) Positive Attitude

(g) Taking massive action (execution) with consistency and belief

(h) Encouraging my surroundings to shine through

(i) Spreading positivity (just a smile is enough sometimes)

(j) Handling the hurdles with grace

(k) Pushing my boundaries towards my goal

(l) Leading by example

What advice would you give to our readers?

Look at yourself as a miracle of god’s creation that is meant to be appreciated. You should be able to identify the key skills and personality traits required in you to succeed in building your own brand and uplift your life to lead by example. Be a source of inspiration to at least one person in your life and you’ll have a chance to make a beautiful world around in and outside of you.

Most early birds find it hard to switch roles after choosing one but to lead a healthy lifestyle one needs to balance the three key elements of life: Personal, Professional and Social.

Career decisions require a long view of what comes after and a good understanding of personal skills and ambitions. Make informed choices and build a professional life that empowers your lifestyle in a way which is satisfactory.”

There is so much to be shared, but this conversation limits how much I can communicate on this platform. Students and young professionals regularly reach out to me on LinkedIn with their specific queries.

Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?

Getting great feedback from those who have been inspired through my social media content, through my coaching sessions/programs amps up my energy to deliver more value to them. Seeing shifts in them and in their journey makes it satisfying because I see their success as my success and their breakthroughs as mine.

I have conferred recognition as the Best Speaker by ICAI in 2019 which boosted me to level up for more and getting hands-on with my work and all the testimonies I receive from my clientele is what I am grateful for.

Getting conferred recognition for the work I do makes my work satisfying. It is less about the recognition and more about being satisfied for serving the humanity as it gives a reminder from the Universe that I am on the right path.
