Nandini Shrivastava | Co-Founder at Toffee Coffee Roasters

In our latest Interview, we spoke to yet another promising womenpreneur – Nandini Shrivastava, Co-founder at Toffee Coffee Roasters. She embarked on her entrepreneurial journey recently along with her friend Rishab Nigam (Co-founder). Her startup aims at offering the best coffee made from handpicked beans from Asia’s largest Arabica producing Gardens clubbed with more personalised customer experience. Let’s read more about her journey and the way forward!

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Nandini Shrivastava:

Talk us a little your startup please and How did this ideas come to your mind?

Rishabh and I are friends for over 6 years and share similar philosophies. We realised that not all the coffee outlets offer the best taste and are also slightly higher on cost. Any true coffee lover would tell you how much does taste matter to them and hence we came up with this idea of offering the finest and premium coffee range at an affordable price point.

We’ve got handpicked beans from Asia’s largest Arabica producing Gardens. Our Baristas roast these handpicked beans in six different varieties ranging from Light, Medium to Dark Roasts. We daily diligently roast our beans and freshly ground and brew it. We’re committed to personalising the coffee experience for each and every individual because we understand the coffee experience is equally important like the coffee itself.

We have witnessed great response from our customers because we focus more on the personalised experience and that is what our customers love us for and they revisit. It is easy to understand their expectations because we are also coffee lovers.

Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job?

I am a passionate person and always wanted to do something meaningful and unique. Entrepreneurship always intrigued me and here I am as an entrepreneur today.

What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation?

I love what I do. My love for coffee every single morning and the vision to bring the finest coffee experience to everyone is what motivates me every day.

What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far?

The journey is not easy. We faced our own set of challenges but it is inevitable when you start something like this. I am a strong woman and Rishab brings in his expertise to organise everything seamlessly. It has been 3 months and we have done exceedingly well. We are ready to face any challenge that comes our way.

What comes first for you – money or emotions?

I am more of an emotional person because money can be earned. It is the emotions that must be unadulterated.

How do you handle the pressure and manage stress?

I don’t take too much pressure and assess every problem composedly. I believe

every problem comes with a solution and you just have to be composed to be able to identify the solution. If you continue overthinking on the situation you are bound to have more of it. I also rely, like any coffee lover, heavily on coffee to manage my stress:)

What advice would you give to someone starting out, particularly to women entrepreneurs?

Just follow your passion and go with the flow! You have to trust your instincts, rest everything would come to fall into place. You just need the initial push from your end to keep things moving.

“Follow your heart and follow your passion”
