Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Pranav:

We are aware of your contribution to the ecosystem, talk us through your background and your journey, please;

I am the youngest Premium personal trainer, nutritionist and lifestyle coach from Hyderabad. Over the past 4-5 years I have transformed over 100 people from all walks of life.

From CEOs of Multinational companies to actors, athletes, housewives, pregnant women. I have trained and transformed them all. So my bank of experience is pretty good.

But this didn’t just start like this. Back in school, I was an extremely lazy kid and that started reflecting on my day to day life. My attitude towards people, studies, and life, in general, was affected significantly. That’s when my dad pushed me to join a gym and hire a personal trainer and that changed everything.”

Initially, I hated it but as I kept progressing, I noticed significant changes in my body and people started noticing that as well. This now became something I was really interested in. The curiosity to understand how the body works and how it can be changed and transformed just kept growing.

Soon I saw myself noticing flaws in the training instructions of the trainers in the gym. And soon I was known as the go-to person for advice in the gym and at school. But never did I consider taking this up professionally.

Over the years, after doing multiple things including my graduation in business management I finally realised that becoming a fitness coach is my true calling. So I decided to get a formal education in this domain and started helping people professionally.

What made you passionate about ‘Coaching’?

It all started with a problem – poor lifestyle choices. This led me to take control of my life and make changes that eventually reversed everything and in fact pushed me further up when it came to productivity, fitness and even attention from people.

Once I was successful at transforming myself, I realised that I can maybe help others who go through the same things I went through. And that quest to equip myself with the right tools to help others made me passionate about coaching.”

I realised that my passion and skill sets were aligned and in favour of my decision of becoming a coach.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

I have a fair understanding of life and how things work out. Primarily because I am extremely self-aware. I know what my strengths and limitations are and I keep working on getting better.

I understand that failure and rejection are an inevitable part of life. You can either choose to sit and dwell upon it or learn from it to better yourself. And anything worth achieving in life takes time.”

So one has to be extremely patient. A lot of this self-talk keeps me going.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

Motivation is overrated. It’s temporary. What really makes a difference is discipline. Having powerful habits and a disciplined routine will keep you going even in the absence of motivation.

But if it really comes down to motivation- the one person who motivates me is the future and better version of me. That’s who I strive to be. Might sound a bit narcissistic but it’s true.

What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?

There are a few:

1) Be patient and keep working hard. Your time will come.

2) Don’t have any significant expectations from life. It’s better to be surprised this to be disappointed.

3) Your growth needs to be bigger than your ego. Don’t hesitate to seek help from people who have been where you are.

4) Your network impacts your net worth

In your opinion, what are the keys to success?

Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on that.

What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?

Success in life is a lot like finding your favourite flavour of ice cream. You only know what your favourite flavour is after trying all the available flavours. So if you really want to be successful, try everything you find interesting. That’s the only way you will know your true calling.

And once you find that. Give it everything you have and be patient. You will be successful.
