As part of this, we invited Taran Singla for an interview with Brilliant Read Media. To say it further, Taran Singla is a Nutritionist, Dietitian and an Influencer. Let’s learn more about her background, inspiring journey so far and her advice for our growing community!
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Taran:
You’ve guided 5000+ transformations. What is the single most important habit that separates successful clients from the rest?
Consistency without a doubt. The clients who truly succeed are not the ones who are perfect for 7 days; they are the ones who stay committed for 7 months.
Sustainable transformation comes from small daily habits like eating meals on time, staying hydrated, moving regularly, and prioritising sleep. It’s the consistency in simple actions that creates long-term results.
In a world full of fad diets, how do you help clients trust and stick to a science-backed approach?
We focus on education, not restriction. Instead of cutting out entire food groups or promoting quick fixes, we help clients understand how the body works, why balanced nutrition matters, and how sustainable habits lead to lasting results.
Once people understand the science behind nutrition, they stop chasing trends and start making informed choices.
What are the biggest mistakes people make when trying to lose weight and why do most diets fail?
One of the biggest mistakes is trying to lose weight too quickly. People often skip meals, eat extremely low calories, or follow unrealistic plans that don’t fit their daily routine.
These methods can slow metabolism, increase cravings, and eventually lead to burnout. Most diets fail because they are temporary solutions rather than sustainable lifestyle changes.
You work with conditions like PCOS, diabetes, thyroid, and blood pressure issues. What is one myth about these that needs to be broken immediately?
The biggest myth is that these conditions make weight loss impossible. While they can make the journey more challenging, they do not make it impossible.
With the right nutrition, regular activity, stress management, and consistency, people can significantly improve symptoms and regain control over their health.
Can lifestyle diseases really be reversed through nutrition alone, or is a more holistic approach necessary?
Nutrition is incredibly powerful, but true healing requires a holistic approach. Sleep, stress levels, physical activity, emotional well-being, and daily routines all play an important role.
Food is a major part of the solution, but lifestyle as a whole becomes the foundation for lasting health.
When progress slows down or plateaus, how do you keep your clients motivated and consistent?
We remind clients that progress isn’t measured only by the number on the weighing scale. Better energy, inches lost, improved blood reports, quality sleep, and increased confidence are all signs of success. Plateaus are normal, and long-term consistency always wins over short-term perfection.
What role do mindset and emotional eating play in weight transformation journeys?
Mindset plays a huge role; it’s often the difference between temporary results and lifelong transformation. Emotional eating usually stems from stress, guilt, loneliness, or emotional imbalance.
Sustainable change happens when clients stop seeing food as punishment or reward and instead build a healthier, more compassionate relationship with themselves.
For women dealing with fertility or pregnancy, what are the most overlooked nutritional factors?
Many women overlook the importance of adequate protein intake and essential micronutrients like iron, folate, vitamin D, and omega-3 fatty acids. Blood sugar balance is another critical factor.
Too often, the focus remains only on calories, when fertility and pregnancy actually require nourishment, hormonal balance, and consistent nutrient intake.
How do you design diet plans that are sustainable for Indian lifestyles rather than restrictive?
Sustainability is key. We use familiar Indian foods, simple cooking methods, flexible meal timings, and practical meal options that fit naturally into family routines.
The goal is not to isolate clients from their lifestyle or culture; it’s to help them make smarter choices while still enjoying the foods they love.
If someone is starting their health journey today, what are the first three changes they should make immediately?
First, improve meal quality by adding more protein and whole foods to the diet.
Second, prioritise sleep and hydration, as both directly impact energy, cravings, and recovery.
Third, start moving every day; even a consistent 30-minute walk can make a significant difference to overall health. Small, consistent steps create the biggest long-term transformation.
