Ayurshi Khurana

At Brilliant Read Media, it is our constant endeavour to identify and share some of the unique and compelling stories from the startup ecosystem. As part of this, we invited Ayurshi Khurana for an interview with Brilliant Read Media. To say it further, Ayurshi is a Self-Transformation & Relationship Coach and Founder at AAK Methodology (Aware | Align | Karma). Let’s learn more about her background, inspiring journey so far and her advice for our growing community!

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Ayurshi:

Can you share your personal journey and what inspired you to become a Self-Transformation Coach?

My journey didn’t begin with coaching it began with healing myself.

There was a phase in my life when my relationship with myself and the people around me was deeply affected. Every conversation felt personal, every word felt like criticism, and I found myself blaming, judging, and reacting more than I wanted to. One day, I asked myself a simple but life-changing question:

“Is this really the person I want to become?”

That question changed everything.

I immersed myself in meditation, spirituality, and self-awareness. During the lockdown, I spent months studying and practicing the teachings of BK Shivani, especially her wisdom on relationships and karma. I didn’t just consume the knowledge I applied it consistently in my own life, with my family, and in every relationship around me.

Gradually, my reactions changed, my ego softened, and my relationships improved because my energy changed first.

As friends began approaching me for guidance, I realized helping people wasn’t just something I enjoyed it was my calling. To strengthen my skills, I became a certified coach under Pooja Puneet. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of coaching individuals and couples through emotional struggles, relationship conflicts, anger, overthinking, self-doubt, hurt, and major life transitions.

Today, coaching is no longer just my profession it’s my purpose.

Overthinking has become a common struggle today. What do you think are the biggest reasons people get trapped in this cycle?

Overthinking is rarely the real problem it is usually a symptom of something much deeper.

It often stems from unhealed emotions, fear of uncertainty, low self-trust, people-pleasing tendencies, the need for control, or constantly seeking validation from others.

We also live in a world where our minds are overloaded with information, yet we spend very little time understanding ourselves.

When people disconnect from their emotions, the mind keeps replaying the same thoughts in search of certainty. But clarity doesn’t come from thinking more it comes from becoming more aware.

Your approach is centred around ‘Aware | Align | Karma.’ Can you explain this framework?

The AAK Methodology was born from my own transformation and has been refined through coaching hundreds of sessions.

Aware – Everything begins with awareness. Most people don’t suffer because of their circumstances they suffer because they’re unconscious of the stories they repeatedly tell themselves. Becoming aware of your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and patterns is the first step toward lasting change.

Align – Once you’re aware, the next step is to consciously align with the person you want to become rather than the patterns you’ve been living with. This involves changing limiting beliefs, emotional responses, communication styles, and daily habits.

Karma (Action) – This is where real transformation happens. The mind naturally pulls us back toward familiar patterns. A coach serves as the bridge between who you are today and who you’re capable of becoming providing accountability until new behaviours become your identity.

That’s the essence of the AAK Methodology:
Aware. Align. Karma.

How can someone identify the difference between stress and burnout?

Stress usually fades when the situation changes.

Burnout doesn’t. It often remains even after you’ve rested.

Some early warning signs include:

– Constant irritation over small things.

– Emotional numbness.

– Feeling exhausted despite getting enough sleep.

– Loss of motivation.

– Feeling disconnected from loved ones.

– Difficulty making simple decisions.

– Feeling like you’re merely surviving instead of truly living.

Unfortunately, many people ignore these signals until their health, relationships, or work begin to suffer.

What are the most common challenges your clients face?

Regardless of age or profession, most people struggle with remarkably similar emotional patterns, including:

> Overthinking

> Emotional dependency

> Relationship conflicts

> Unresolved hurt

> Anger and resentment

> Low self-worth

> Difficulty setting healthy boundaries

> Fear of making decisions

> Lack of clarity and consistency

> Living according to others’ expectations instead of their own values

The common thread isn’t that life is unusually difficult it’s that most people have never been taught how to truly understand themselves emotionally.

What practical steps can people take to regain clarity, emotional balance, and a sense of control in their daily lives?

Transformation isn’t built through complicated routines.

It’s built through simple practices repeated consistently.

Some powerful daily habits include:

a) Spend ten minutes every day observing your thoughts without judging them.

b) Pause before reacting emotionally.

c) Journal your emotional triggers instead of suppressing them.

d) Practice gratitude daily.

e) Communicate honestly rather than making assumptions.

f) Set healthy emotional boundaries.

Small daily actions create extraordinary long-term transformation.

Can you share a client success story that demonstrates the power of self-awareness and inner transformation?

One client came to me feeling emotionally exhausted.

She lived in a joint family where constant comparisons, criticism, and lack of appreciation had deeply affected her confidence. She felt invisible, guilty, and afraid of expressing herself.

Rather than trying to change everyone around her, we focused on changing her relationship with herself.

Through self-awareness, emotional regulation, healthy boundary-setting, and consistent practice, she gradually became emotionally independent.

Today, she no longer seeks constant approval. She communicates with confidence, sets healthy boundaries without guilt, maintains respectful relationships, and most importantly, genuinely loves and accepts herself.

That transformation didn’t happen because her family suddenly changed.

It happened because she changed first.

Many people seek external validation for happiness. How can individuals build confidence and self-worth from within?

Confidence isn’t built by receiving more compliments.

It’s built by keeping promises to yourself.

When your self-worth depends on other people’s opinions, your happiness becomes fragile.

Real confidence develops when your identity is rooted in your values rather than others’ approval.

I often encourage people to ask themselves:

“If nobody praised me today, would I still be proud of how I showed up?”

That one question has the power to shift everything.

Coaching and therapy are often confused. How is coaching different, and who is it best suited for?

Coaching, therapy, and counselling all create tremendous value they simply serve different purposes.

Therapy and counselling often focus on healing deep emotional wounds and understanding the past.

Coaching is future-focused and action-oriented. It helps people move from where they are today to where they genuinely want to be.

Through my coaching, I help clients build emotional awareness, break limiting patterns, improve relationships, strengthen confidence, and develop sustainable habits using practical tools they can apply immediately.

It’s ideal for individuals who know they want more from life but need clarity, accountability, and the right guidance to get there.

What are some myths or misconceptions about personal growth and emotional healing that you would like to debunk?

One of the biggest myths is that healing means you’ll never feel hurt again.

Healing doesn’t remove emotions it transforms your relationship with them.

Another misconception is that awareness alone creates transformation.

Knowledge is valuable, but practice is transformational.

Reading books, attending workshops, or watching motivational videos won’t change your life unless your behaviour changes.

True transformation happens through repeated action.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone struggling with overthinking, emotional exhaustion, and self-doubt, what would it be?

Stop trying to solve your life with the same mind that’s creating the confusion.

Instead, slow down.

Become aware.

Sometimes, all you need is someone who can help you see your patterns clearly.

Asking for support isn’t weakness it’s wisdom.

What impact do you hope to create through your work in the coming years?

My vision extends far beyond one-on-one coaching.

I want emotional awareness to become as normal as physical fitness.

I’m expanding my work through individual coaching, couple coaching, corporate wellness programs, workshops, and educational platforms so that more people can access practical emotional tools before challenges become crises.

If one emotionally aware person can positively influence an entire family, imagine the ripple effect when thousands begin transforming themselves.

That is the impact I hope to create.
