Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

My professional journey so far has helped me cross-pollinate ideas across a wide variety of industry sectors, including medical, business administration, research, teaching.

After completing my graduation, I joined the teaching profession at the medical college in Mumbai contributing in building the next generation of medical professionals. Simultaneously I pursued my Post Graduation while balancing my job, family, practice and my own education.

I worked as a Faculty for MBA Healthcare Institute in Thane. Later I founded ‘ProHealthSpace’ a program for lifestyle changes aiming towards the physical and mental well-being of people.

Currently, I am conducting online and offline sessions/seminars on Soft Skill training, Stress management, Work-Life Balance etc while continuing my teaching and practising career.

How did you discover your passion ‘Coach’?

Over the last 20 years, I saw thousands of patients with diabetes, hypertension, thyroid dysfunction, insomnia etc. These disorders occurring in a very young age.

After understanding them, I discovered that most of them are basically depressed, frustrated, anxious. The real issue for them was stress at home or the workplace. The insecurity, non-appreciation, workload etc ultimately reflected on mental and later physical levels.

Although it could have been prevented if they knew how to handle it properly. They frequently faced challenges at home like difficulties in dealing with family members or difficult work Life balance or non-appreciation on the home front. At the workplace, working under pressure for target completion or challenges with coworkers like non-cooperation, harassment, discrimination etc.”

After realising that all these people did not know how to navigate through these circumstances properly. Even if they are well educated like engineers, CA, MBA, doctors etc, they lacked the necessary soft skills required in personal as well as professional life. As a Physician, my job is not only to treat the patient but also to prevent the disease.

So I decided to help them out by removing the root cause of it and making them well-versed with all the essential soft skills required. Creating a Difference in people’s life has become my purpose and I work hard for it.

As much as I am passionate about treating patients and teaching medical students, I am equally dedicated as a coach and counsellor.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

Being a hardcore teacher, I enjoy my work and feel content when people are benefited because of my coaching. During this entire journey, I loved to explore what really resonated with my personality and got to learn new things myself.

Empowering and challenging the myths, stereotypes about the wellness journey to have self-awareness and courage to do their own therapy to live a life of respect, dignity and treat others with the same ethical principles is my drive to work in this field.”

I believe in sharing knowledge and that’s the first principle of ‘ProHealthSpace’. I believe everyone has potential in them, but they themselves are not aware of it. It is important to understand people are shaped by their experiences and circumstances and preconceived notions which needs to be modified whenever required.

At ‘ProHealthSpace’ we envision a world in which people have enhanced skillsets to deal with challenges that can ultimately elevate their self-awareness, confidence, satisfaction so that it is reflected by improvement in their mental and emotional health and achieve harmony.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

As a life coach, I am deeply motivated by my unwavering commitment to empowering individuals to reach their full potential and achieve their goals. This drive to positively impact the lives of others fills me with excitement and eagerness to take on whatever challenges the day may bring.

My clients are a constant source of inspiration, as I am constantly amazed by their fortitude, tenacity, and bravery. Seeing them overcome obstacles, conquer limiting beliefs, and accomplish their dreams is immensely gratifying, and it propels me to strive for excellence in all areas of my life.”

Alongside my clients, my family and loved ones provide me with invaluable support and remind me of the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life. They motivate me to pursue my own passions and interests, take care of my well-being, and remain focused on the things that truly matter.

Ultimately, my deepest motivation springs from within. I am fueled by a profound sense of purpose and a desire to leverage my expertise, knowledge, and skills to effect positive change in the world.

Whether I am working with clients, contributing to my community through volunteering, or pursuing my own growth and development, I am constantly striving to become the best version of myself and lead a fulfilling life of significance.

As a life coach, I am passionate about guiding others in finding their own sources of motivation and inspiration, and I am committed to supporting them as they journey towards realizing their full potential and living their best lives.

What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?

There are a few:

> Learning and developing new skills: I continuously challenge myself to learn and develop new skills, broadening my knowledge and expanding my capabilities.

> Being resourceful: I consistently exhibit resourcefulness in my approach to problem-solving and overcoming obstacles. It includes leveraging my own skills and strengths, seeking out information or advice from others, being creative in finding alternative solutions, and adapting to new situations.

> Accept responsibility and Assume ownership of my actions: When I am being proactive and self-aware, I constantly seek to improve and learn from mistakes or failures. Being accountable to others and following through on commitments, even if it requires personal sacrifice or hard work has lifted me to my current status.

> Embracing challenges and stepping out of my comfort zone to venture into uncharted territories.

> Seeking feedback: I actively seek feedback from others to gain different perspectives and uncover any blind spots that may be hindering my growth.

> Building meaningful relationships: I cultivate deep connections with others, providing a sense of purpose, support, and inspiration

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

As a life coach, I believe that success is not just about achieving goals or acquiring wealth, but it is about living a fulfilling and meaningful life.

In my view, achieving success requires a blend of having a clear vision, taking consistent action, constantly learning, being persistent, building meaningful relationships, and prioritizing self-care.

What advice would you give to our readers?

As a life coach, I would advise individuals to prioritize personal development as a continuous journey towards achieving their goals and reaching their full potential. To guide this journey, there are certain key practices that individuals should follow to foster personal growth and success.

1) Being proactive is crucial when you take control of your own life and actively seek out opportunities for growth and development. Individuals should identify their goals and take steps towards achieving them, rather than waiting for things to happen.

2)Discipline is essential for success. Having the self-control to consistently follow through with commitments and goals, even when it may be challenging or uncomfortable. Discipline requires a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to personal growth and development.

3) Finding focus and purpose is key. Individuals should identify their passions and interests and work towards developing skills and expertise in those areas. Set clear goals and prioritize activities that align with those goals.

4) Having intention and attention is important. Being intentional about the choices and decisions made in life, and focusing attention on the things that really matter. Prioritize time and energy on the things that contribute to personal growth and development, while minimizing distractions and time-wasters.

5) Working on emotional intelligence is critical for personal growth and success. Emotional intelligence helps you navigate challenges and conflicts, build strong relationships, and achieve your goals with greater ease and effectiveness.

It’s important to recognize that individuals are not perfect and should not strive for perfection. Instead, they should focus on progress and growth, recognizing that setbacks and failures are part of the journey.

Developing new habits and behaviours is crucial to personal growth, as we are creatures of habit and tend to default to our existing patterns. It’s important to be careful about what we believe, as our beliefs can shape our reality. Finally, reading books is a powerful way to expand knowledge, gain new insights, and foster personal growth.

Personal development requires continuous, intentional efforts and commitment. By being proactive, disciplined, focused, intentional, and emotionally intelligent, individuals can achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

By building new habits and behaviours, being mindful of our beliefs, and reading books, individuals can continue to grow and develop throughout their lives. As a life coach, I encourage individuals to prioritize personal growth and development as a continuous journey towards success and fulfilment.

Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?

There are various factors that serve as motivation for me to continue working as a coach despite the demanding nature of the profession. Although coaching requires significant time, energy, and patience, the benefits it brings are tremendous, and I find the following factors to be particularly significant in driving me forward.

Receiving positive feedback from individuals who have been motivated by my social media content or coaching sessions/programs boosts my enthusiasm to provide more value to them. Witnessing changes in their behaviour and progress is gratifying since I view their accomplishments as mine and their advancements as a reflection of my own success.

Primarily, witnessing my clients/patients improve is an immense source of motivation. I find it incredibly satisfying when someone who has struggled with a particular skill or technique finally succeeds, knowing that I have contributed to their progress fills me with immense pride and satisfaction.

Secondly, establishing strong relationships with my patients/clients is a crucial motivator. Coaching isn’t solely about teaching skills and techniques; it’s also about forming strong bonds with the clients you work with, built on trust, respect, and mutual understanding. Observing the impact that I can have on an individual’s life, provides me with a powerful motivator.

Thirdly, the prospect of learning and growing as a coach keeps me motivated. Coaching is a constantly evolving profession, and there’s always something new to learn, whether it’s a new training technique, strategy, or communication approach. Pursuing knowledge and growth is both challenging and exciting, and it keeps me interested and motivated in my work.

Lastly, the support and encouragement of my colleagues and peers are significant motivators. Coaching can be a lonely profession, but knowing that I have the support and encouragement of other coaches and professionals in the field is incredibly important to me.

Being able to exchange ideas, successes, and challenges with others who comprehend the unique demands of coaching is valuable, and it helps me to stay focused and motivated in my role.”

Coaching is a demanding yet immensely rewarding profession. The satisfaction of seeing my clients improve, forming strong relationships with them, the chance to learn and grow as a coach, and the support and encouragement of my colleagues and peers all contribute to my motivation to keep going.

I have been honoured with the title of True Inspiration and felicitated by the Mumbai Police Department. Additionally, I had the privilege of serving as the Chief Guest at SKH Medical College’s Convocation ceremony to confer degrees to the graduating class.

Most recently, I was acknowledged for my efforts in raising awareness for HIV through my work in leadership coaching. Being recognized for the work I do brings me great satisfaction.

Driven by such appreciation, we persist in delivering Soft Skill Development, Resiliency Development, Time Management, Stress Management, Work-Life Balance, and other similar programs.

I ensure that these sessions are personalized based on individual and organizational needs. Moreover, we offer flexible schedules, including weekend and weekday batches, to accommodate the participants’ convenience and ensure maximum learning.

My aim is to encourage and support them in their efforts to reach their objectives and lead fulfilling lives. As a life coach, I work with my clients to identify and cultivate these key elements of success. By focusing on these elements, my clients can develop the mindset, skills, and behaviours that are necessary to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.
