Apart from technical and marketing content, he also makes motivational and inspirational videos that are very helpful for all the people. He is really passionate about his ideas and is working on a few more startup ideas. With his consistent efforts, hard work and determination, he has gained significant success. Let’s read more about his inspirational story so far!

Excerpts from our exclusive conversation with him:

You are one of the best content creators so where did the idea to start something like this come from?

In my childhood days, whenever I used to watch animated cartoon videos; I also thought of creating. But, I didn’t know anything about video production at that time.

So, that quest arose when I was in Class 10th when one day, one of my friends told me in the class that if you make videos on YouTube, you can earn money.”

At first, I couldn’t understand why will anyone pay me for just making videos. But, after some research on the Internet, I understood the whole scene about YouTube. So, from there it all started and gradually I learned everything.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey!

People know me as MN Hemant in the online world, but my full name is Hemant Kumar Mahto. I come from a village area in Petarwar, Bokaro of Jharkhand, India. Yes, it’s that Ranchi, Jharkhand from where our captain cool, MS Dhoni belongs to.

My journey started back in October 2017 with a YouTube channel and now I’m engaged in multiple things like blogging, digital marketing, public speaking, and many more from wherever I can help people through my knowledge and life experiences.

Why did you choose vlogging (entrepreneurship) over a job?

As I told you that it all started from my school time. So, as I progressed in the journey of vlogging, sharing my knowledge through videos; you can say it became like a habit. The best part about this is that you can live a free lifestyle, you are not bound to any office or even specific time as in a job. Whenever you like, wherever you like, anytime-anywhere, just turn on the camera and you can help people by making videos. So, I always prefer entrepreneurship.

What have you got from your journey so far?

I believe, achievements are one-time but transformation lifetime. Throughout time, what I have become is more important than what I have achieved.

However, talking about some achievements, I got a Silver Creator Award (Play Button) on completing 100K+ Subscribers on my YouTube channel. Apart from this, the love of people is tremendous.

Last year, I got a chance to attend the Google Webmaster Conference in Patna where I learned a lot of things.

One of the best days of my journey so far was the day when I got Social Media Awards 2020 in an event organized by Ranchi Press Club and some media houses. Now, I am getting opportunities to speak in events and seminars. So, that’s great.

What keeps you going i.e. what’s your source of motivation?

Speaking about motivation, I think, anything which gives you a reason to do something in your life is motivation. So, my WHY is clear, the reason behind making videos consistently pushes me to make videos regularly. Other than this, the love of people/audience is phenomenal. Whenever I see people like my content, share with their loved ones, and leave their blessings in the comment section, the inner-motivation gets awakened and I feel more energetic for making more videos.

Please share with us some of the challenges you faced in your journey.

Challenges are natural. Nothing can be expected without overcoming challenges. I also faced many problems in my beginning days when I didn’t know much about video making and how to present the content for better engagement. Even I didn’t have the required gadgets like camera, tripod, microphone, lighting setup, editing machine, not even a good smartphone. But, somehow I managed to do all things with our famous Indian culture “Jugad”. Now, when I look back at my struggles, I feel like how I even did this without having enough resources. By God’s grace, everything is now sorted and going good.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

The definition of success for everyone is different but some core principles apply for all. First of all, you have to be clear why you are doing this. You must have a definite reason backed by firm determination, persistence, and self-belief. Also, it may seem to be a place/position where after reaching you will be successful. But, believe it or not, it’s just a goal. Success is not a destination, it’s a journey.

What advice would you give to someone starting out, particularly to aspiring bloggers/vloggers/digital media entrepreneurs?

If you have started out anything, like making videos, writing blogs, freelancing, or say digital marketing; be consistent with your work and never lower your morale seeing that the result is not coming, people are not liking my content, never do that. Have faith in yourself and keep patience, you won’t succeed in one day but you will definitely succeed one day.

And, for those who are just thinking, take action. The beginning is always now. If you begin, 90% of your whole is already done. Don’t overthink and get confused. Overthinking only serves to build your nerves. Whatever you like, start it. Work hard smartly with full dedication and make it count.

“Be focused! Don’t be in focus.”
