Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Parul Sharma:

Tell us a little bit about yourself please & Why did you choose acting and modelling over a job?

I was born in Pathankot and currently staying in Mumbai. I have done my graduation in bachelor of business administration. I always dreamt of being an actor. Acting has always been my passion. So, I started my career as a model and did many shows in Punjab and Delhi for various elite designers and popular brands. I also worked as a nutritionist in Delhi.  To explore more opportunities and to leverage my experience, I moved to Mumbai. I am currently working as a casting director and also working as an actor and did many plays and cameos in the films.

What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation?

My source of motivation is my goals and my drive to do something creative and productive in life and to make my each day count. You see, you only get one life and you have to do you best to do something meaningful. So my passion and work serves as a motivation for me.

What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far?

I strongly believe that challenges and obstacles are a part of the journey and life. Every day there are new challenges and obstacles through which you have to grow and move ahead towards your goals.

Tell our audience more about your failures? How should one bounce back?

My rule in life is that I never take my failures as negative, I always learn and grow from them because I have my goals sorted. There are times when you don’t succeed in your efforts and that’s when I remember my father’s words that never be sad for the efforts always think the intensity of efforts you put in and if you don’t succeed increase the intensity of your efforts or change the way but never stop trying.

What comes first for you – money or emotions?

I am a very emotional person and for me, the value of relations have always been a priority. Money is temporary and it’s emotions which make you or break you.

How do you handle the pressure and manage stress?

I always keep myself busy physically and mentally and I like to take out my stress in my workouts and not let it affect my work. It is important for you to explore avenues to destress yourself. It can be listening to music, meditating, going for a walk e.t.c. For me it is work-out.

What advice would you give to someone with similar ambitions?

The moment you set your goals and take the first step towards them you have already started and now just focus on your goals and each day make it worth and start planning your day and at the end of the day analyse your efforts
