At BrilliantRead Media, we always strive to bring meaningful and powerful stories from India and around the world to empower and motivate our growing community. As part of this endeavour, we invited Premila Dias for an exclusive interview with us. She is a Leader, Entrepreneur, Coach, Change Maker, Teacher, Counsellor, Influencer and Mentor. Premila is the Founder of Enrich to Grow. Let’s learn more about her incredible journey, her background, and her advice for our growing community!

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Premila:

We are aware of your contribution to the ecosystem, talk us through your background and your journey, please;

I grew up in a military household and often had to travel around, thus resulting in me changing schools frequently. I was a KV student until ninth grade before being put in a SSC board school for my tenth in Sawantwadi, Maharashtra.

My college years were spent in Shivraj college, Gadhinglaj and St. Luke College of Nursing, Srirampur. I pursued nursing as a career and worked at Fortis Hospital and Breach Candy Hospital.

In 2014, I switched professions and became a teacher at Lodha World School, Thane after earning a diploma in early childhood education from Bombay Teachers Training College, Colaba.

In 2018, I quit my job as a teacher and began to pursue Coaching and finally in 2020, I opened my own company focused on child and parent relationships and growth called ‘Enrich 2 Grow’.

What made you passionate about ‘Coaching’?

For me, Coaching is a tool to grow and develop.

My passion for coaching is driven by knowledge so that I can help and make a change in someone’s life. Coaching isn’t a form of training, it is an action that helps me learn new things and helps people understand and unleash their passion to develop it into something beneficial.”

I believe that everyone has a dream to fulfil and the fact that I can help people take a step closer to fulfilling their dream and live their lives to the fullest is what makes me passionate about this job.

The ability to help someone change their mindset from being a victim – helpless and dependent,  to a warrior – independent and strong, is what made me passionate about Coaching.

‘Enrich to Grow’ is such a unique name; talk us through more about it, please. Our audience would also love to know what kind of problem you are solving?

From the time we are conceived in our mother’s womb, we have been growing. Throughout our lives, we are growing – mentally, emotionally, and physically.  Pursuing growth in the right direction while enriching ourselves just how a plant grows while enriching itself with nutrients, was the inspiration for our company name – ‘Enrich to grow.’

My main audience are teenagers, parents and patients suffering from lung-related diseases. For teenagers, I work with them to understand their interests and help them realise their maximum potential. Until they find their purpose, they can’t make a difference in their and others’ lives.

At Enrich to Grow, we help teenagers live their lives to the fullest.”

We help parents make a compassionate, understanding and strong bond with their children so that the teenager can empower/enrich themselves towards their success. For patients suffering from lung diseases, I started a rehab group that focuses on a lifestyle that will benefit the patient and help them live healthier life.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

Every morning when I wake up, I ask myself a question – ‘What value will I add today in my life and what value will I add in someone’s life?’ The main thing that drives me is the commitment I  made with myself four years ago- which is to complete my dreams and desires. I am accountable to complete the promise I made with myself.

My passion and my purpose in life drives me to keep going. I have two beautiful kids who give me the energy to complete my tasks and my supportive husband who helps and guides me. Because of my family, I am encouraged to overcome any oncoming challenges.

I wish to be a role model for my children that no matter the challenges you should always be focused on your work.”

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

My biggest source of motivation are my family members – My husband Walnace, my daughter Norah, and my son Nathan.”

Whenever I feel low they raise my spirits and encourage me to continue my work. My son’s adorable smile motivates me to continue my work regardless of the situation with a smile. My husband’s patience teaches me to be consistent with my work and always be patient for results.

My daughter is always energetic which makes me want to be enthusiastic and tells me to be energetic every moment while I work. My mentor Nitesh Gawade is another person who is my source of motivation as he constantly encourages me to take upon new challenges.

What are the business mantras you have embraced as you sought to establish your success story?

I have embraced the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework. The quarterly milestone-based working has truly helped me in devising the right strategic framework for my business. My weekly webinars, multiple posts on social media platforms, creating my own videos, networking with teenagers, working with schools and college is helping me succeed.

Please share with us, how do you motivate your clients?

I motivate my client by being a role model for them. The mantra ‘Don’t just talk the walk, but walk the walk’ applies in this situation.

I encourage my clients to understand themselves and listen to their inner self, which is something I follow as well.”

What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?

My core values, self-respect, commitment, self-belief, leadership skills, ability to live in the moment and in happiness, the ability to balance work and personal life, perseverance and an energetic and positive mindset are the few things/strategies that have helped me grow as a person.

You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?

Painting is one of my hobbies which helps me to work passionately and use a creative mindset regarding work.

Spending time with myself and meditating are two things that keep me motivated and positive.”

I like being spiritual and being in a church with my thoughts and god. It helps me to be calm and collected all the while helping me gather my thoughts.

In your opinion, what are the keys to success?

– According to me, the first key to achieving success is self acceptance. Love yourself for who you are and accept your flaws and perfections. When you value yourself, the world values you.

– Be committed and accountable to your promises and work.

– Always be curious and keen to learn new things. Never let your pride be the reason you don’t own up to and learn from your mistakes.

– Remember, Feedback is the breakfast for success. Never shy away from feedback – be it positive or negative.

– Consistency is the key. Stay focused and continue whatever you are doing regardless of the obstacles.

What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?

Each person has their own strategies to achieve success. My advice to students and young professionals would be to first have an objective. What is it that you wish to achieve and why?

Always, remember to have a plan. A plan will help you strategize and accordingly make an action plan. Planning things out will help you be organised and also help you be updated on how far you’ve come till now.

Decide on milestones. Plan small goals you wish to achieve while you work towards your actual goal.

Stay focused and stick to your plan.

Be your own motivator. Motivate yourself to keep going. There are going to be times when you feel like giving up, trust in yourself in those times and motivate yourself to not give up.
