Rahul Jonwal

As part of our relentless efforts to identify and share some of the meaningful stories from India and around the world, this week we invited Passionate Entrepreneur Rahul Jonwal for an interview with us. He is the Founder of FusionJon. Let’s read more about his inspiring journey so far, his background and his advice for our growing community!

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Rahul:

Talk us through your background and your journey as an entrepreneur, please;

I am from a very simple and decent family and I was born and brought up in Delhi, even my ancestors were from Delhi, so life in metro cities is full of struggle and for a simple and middle-class family it is more tough to survive.

As Darwin theory says “Survival of the fittest” Is truly applicable to me and my family. I will start with my academics than professional and I would also like to add my hobbies to it.”

I have done my schooling from GSR Sarvodya School (Defence Colony New Delhi), have completed my graduation (Bachelors Of Arts) from Delhi University.  Additionally done 2 Years Course of Networking from HIPL a private institute at South Ex Part-1, several certifications like MCSE From Microsoft, CCNA, Citrix XenApp Server & Database Administrator. I have also done an MBA from Symbiosis from distance learning.

At the time of graduation, I had started doing Job as a Data Entry operator in the night shift at one of the local courier services. Before that, I had also done some odd jobs. After Final Year exams I had started a job as a Sales/Promoter in Nescafe and finally got an opportunity in Sheela Foam (SleepWell) which is one of the best players in the mattress and foam industry, there I worked as head of IOT and IIOT solutions, so there I got a good experience in foaming and IT industry. I was there for approx 11 years, a good time that I have invested there.

Now, I will talk about my hobbies from the start. I am very much passionate about cricket, and I am an all-rounder in cricket, my dream was to do something big on Cricket Field.

But unfortunately, at that moment it was not easy for me because I was financially not strong and then I have decided I must do something different in my life to fulfil not only mine but also the desires and dreams of the children who can’t fulfil theirs too.

Rather than cricket I also play other games like volleyball. Actually, I am very much concerned about my fitness, so for this, I am continuously active in games. I also suggest others do some activity for their fitness.”

When I was leaving Sheela Foam, I didn’t have any business background but at that moment I have decided I will definitely swim in the river of business and after that, I have started exploring many opportunities, ideas and markets to fulfil my Entrepreneurship dream.

And today finally I have achieved something which I wanted but this is just the starting and there are several many more milestones which I have to pass to achieve my dream.

As far as the Ecosystem is concerned, no Ecosystem is complete without people so keep this concept in mind we are doing the business to keep people growing & upgrading, in this fast-moving world.

Me & My Venture’s (FusionJon) main focus to digitalis the Indian Foaming and Sleep Industry by providing them innovative digital solutions to make their process standardized and bring all scattered processes of any organization in one platform, and our focus is not only restricted to foaming industry, it’s beyond that I.e it can be customization to any industry. But 1st target to give service to the Foaming Industry.

We are believing & doing something for Digital India. My dream is to take my Company to the level where people consider it as the best IT solutions provider.

What attracts you towards entrepreneurship instead of a corporate career?

For me, it’s not a choice and not fascinating, it’s my dream which I have not only seen for my well being but also for those who can’t even dream.

I have said in my previous statement that dreaming for our-self is very easy but once you dream for others then it changes into responsibility and yes for me Entrepreneurship is a way through which I can fulfil my responsibility and also keep my passion alive.

Through Corporate jobs, you can easily fulfil your dreams and desires but once you decide to do something for others then you have to achieve something different and that’s the reason I came into it.”

Rahul Jonwal

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

Goals give you a direction to focus on – one that’s measurable and have an endpoint. This can help you to stay motivated.

Choose goals that interest you. You’re much more likely to stay motivated if you’re working towards something that you genuinely want to do or achieve, rather than what other people want for you.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

I follow these lines

“THE BIGGEST SOURCE OF MOTIVATION ARE YOUR OWN THOUGHTS, SO THINK BIG AND MOTIVATE YOURSELF TO WIN”

– Playing sports because you enjoy how they make you feel.

– Staying longer at work because you believe in your work.

– Spend some time with friends to change your mindset positively.

What are some of the strategies that you believe has helped you grow as a person?

Set a personal development goal and Write it down (on paper, online, or a vision board)

> Surround yourself with positive affirmations and people.

> Being grateful.

> Knowledge sharing

> Be kind to yourself and to others

> Join the company of people with a similar vision.

You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?

My motivation comes from my thoughts, I keep myself motivated with the help of my mind only.

For me motivation not only comes from a famous personality and not from any spiritual gurus, it can come from any living being, even a dog can motivate you by providing a “Sense of Purpose” similarly a small baby can motivate us by their “attention and smile”.

All these have us to release stress, anxiety and depression.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

(a) Accept challenges and Critics and be positive

(b) Be calm and humble in every situation

(c) Keep learning

(d) Move forward with Team

(e) Explore opportunities

(f) Be Innovative
