Interview With Shashank Joshi | Founder of Zenith Marketing India

We recently spoke to Shashank Joshi – Founder of Zenith Marketing India, to understand his vision and success formulas for today’s entrepreneurial landscape. Shashank shared his journey with us and some meaningful advice for the startup ecosystem.

Here are the excerpts from our exclusive Interview with Shashank:

Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job at such a young age?

I’m a firm believer of the theory that it’s your 20s, which are the gift of God and it must be used prudently, we should never waste it on making someone else’s dreams come true and hence I chose entrepreneurship over 9 to 5, I was always inclined towards innovation, ideas and betterment of the community. According to me life is short and we must add value to the community and make our mark.

What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation?

I am a person who loves to create and represent ‘new’ every time, every day and that’s the reason my dreams and my aims don’t allow me to sleep until I think of my targets for next morning. Motivation to me is something which comes from within and I aim to make my today better than yesterday, always.

Why should people choose your product/services?

See, people should always choose the product or service which tends to create value for them and create a positive path for future developments. All our services revolve around making a vendor or a restaurant into a brand. If there is any time we’re unable to serve the expectations or cannot create value, we are open to saying NO directly to the people. Also, I believe all your services & the way you provide it, should involve a basic factor,  Innovation. You can sense the flavour of same in our services. This is something which differentiates us. We are constantly working on our services to make it better and efficient.

We just don’t impose our terms, our ideas, our packages, we give our clients full freedom to customise and personalise their package as per their requirements making it easier for them to decide and choose a better dynamic option.

What’s your competitive advantage and why can’t it be copied?

Our think tank is our competitive advantage. Also, we believe in continuous learning. Methods can be copied but the way to fit everything into its place to make the magic work, That’s what separates us!

What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far?

Every business has risks. Our risks are associated with a right skillset that we look for expansion in future. We already have a core niche team but I see from future expansion perspective, we would need innovative minds, with the flexible thought process. Although, with a clearly defined process, and innovative means to reach out to search resource, we are confident enough that we will mitigate it.

Tell our audience more about your failures? How should one bounce back?

I’ll quote Alfred here:

“Why do we fall sir? So we can learn to pick ourselves up”

Being in a business which purely is accepted for its creativity, we accept failures on a daily basis. You present the client with 6 options for design, there’s a good chance that he’ll accept none. Getting past that and Knowing the needs and the mind of the customer is a task, trust me.

What comes first for you – money or emotions?

Only one emotion, PASSION. The money follows, always. Once you are committed to your passion, you don’t have to worry about money as it follows. You just have to find the right way to monetise it. Again, we have to keep the value quotient in mind.

How do you handle the pressure and manage stress?

The pressure is a part of business and stress management is something you learn over time.

‘Eyes closed, Think of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’

I believe to be calm and patient at situations which are comprehensively difficult and find out the solution to it, calmly. There have been cases where we were stuck and in tough thoughts but the right mindset and firm belief in yourself makes it easy for you to manage.

What advice would you give to someone starting out?

Be Passionate, Never lose motivation and Know your value

Every business takes a lot of time, skill and yes, Courage. Take calculative risks and break your final goal into smaller targets, You’ll get there, slow and steady.
