Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Swati:

We are aware of your contributions to the ecosystem; talk us through your background and your journey, please;

Well, I was 93 kg in 2012. Anaemic, PCOS, loss of lordosis and migraine were things I was dealing with along with two small kids. I am a sailor’s wife so you know what I mean. I lost 30 kgs.

Did my professional certifications in 2014 end and since then I have transformed more than 3000 lives alone.

How did you discover your passion as a ‘Nutritionist’?

Well, to be honest, a friend helped me realise my passion. I used to work out since I was 11-12. My mother used to nap in the afternoons and I used to do aerobics and try bodyweight exercises.

It was after my wedding when I lost 30 kgs and I began helping friends around when a close friend pointed out that you are already into..why don’t you do a course in it professionally. That night, after my kids went to sleep I enrolled myself on my first course in 2012.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

Self-love drives me. Why do we need the motivation to take care of ourselves? Do you need the motivation to brush your teeth? Or clean your house? Fitness is like personal hygiene. As simple as that.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

Extrinsic motivation is a fad. It’s a myth. But still, if you ask, my kids are my biggest motivation. After all, you can’t pour from an empty cup. If I am not fit and healthy, how would I take care of them.

I always say….”If you have people who depend on you, then fitness becomes a moral obligation”

What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?

I don’t feed myself any negative content. Be it dark movies, books or whatever. I keep my energies positive. I stay around positive people.

I am a big believer in the law of attraction. What you think is what you attract. So only happy thoughts and happy vibes for me.

You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?

Trust me, even the biggest of athletes are not motivated every day. I mean 3 out of 7 days I don’t feel like going to the gym.

But it’s a discipline now. Like you have to do it. Like you go to work or you cook every day, or you clean your house or do the laundry. You gotta do it. That’s it
