What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation?

I am passionate about my work. I love what I do so it is always a motivating factor for me. It has been over a decade since I am into my entrepreneurial journey and I get to learn new things every day from my team, my clients and everyone around me this is how exciting the entrepreneurial journey is. I just wish to add value to the lives of my clients through my experience that’s it.

What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far

Challenges and obstacles are an integral part of your growth trajectory. You find a new set of challenges every week that you have to deal with. I don’t worry much, thanks to my rich experience. I always tell my team to be solution-oriented. There is always a solution or a turnaround for the challenges we encounter, we just have to carefully assess the problems and find/create solutions for it.

V. K. Mishra | Founder and Director At The Scholar

What comes first for you – money or emotions?

I feel both have their role to play. Both are important. It is important not to be too emotional or too money-minded. We have to maintain an equilibrium. Money is obviously the priority but I believe if your value creation process is right for your clients, the money will automatically come as an outcome of it.

How do you handle the pressure and manage stress?

I plan my tasks and projects well in advance to ensure I keep a check on any type of pressure mounting because of it. Like I shared earlier when you work on what you are passionate about there is no stress as such. I also don’t overthink and I strongly believe we should not let pressure or stress interfere with our decision-making process. Whenever I am stressed, I take a break to assess the situation and find the best ways to counter it.

What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person?

In my journey so far what has helped me immensely is the value-proposition. I always look to add as much value as possible to the lives of my clients. I believe your products or services should add value to your clients and you don’t have to spend too much time on marketing.

What advice would you give to someone starting out?

My advice to all the entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs would be to focus on one mantra which is – ‘add value to get value’. Don’t focus primarily on money or investments, focus more on the execution part, instead.
