Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Vicki:

Talk us through your background and your journey, please;

I don’t know where to start. I can just say that I have been extremely passionate about solving some problems with the help of technology. My focus has always been towards making the lives of people around me much easier.

I successfully founded and scaled various ventures before Ladakh Oxygen Plant. My journey has been a roller coaster.

I started to set up an oxygen plant and IT services in Ladakh 13 years back and there has been no looking back. We have scaled new highs through our hard work, commitment and dedication.

To sum up, Oxygen and IT technology has always been and is still my prime focus.

What attracts you towards entrepreneurship instead of a corporate career?

Entrepreneurship makes you independent. You have to be strong at decision making, execution, planning and many other things.

You feel a sense of achievement and nothing can beat that feeling. You are always on your own.

You lead by example and inspire others. I think, I always had an entrepreneurial bent of mind.

Also, you can help in employment-generating at your will, a corporate career is something I don’t belong to.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

This one is an interesting question! My answer in one word would be ‘Passion’.

It is my passion and purpose that keeps me going. Every time I stumble upon obstacles, I just remind myself of my purpose and thing become clearer.

So it has to be my passion that keeps me motivated and enthusiastic.

But having said that, as a person I do have my limitations. Passion drives me crazy and sometimes my body gets tired, once I take a project it means I am working 14-15 hrs. That’s when I take some rest and indulge in some form of adventure to destress and refresh myself.
