At BrilliantRead Media, we always strive to bring meaningful and inspiring stories from India and around the world to empower and motivate our growing community. As part of this endeavour, we invited Geeta Shah for an exclusive interview with us. Geeta is a Corporate Mentor, High Performance Leadership Coach and Trainer. Let’s learn more about her inspiring journey, teaching philosophy, and valuable insights.

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Geeta:

Can you tell us about your journey and what inspired you to establish Wardrob Editt?

My journey into personal styling wasn’t a planned career move; it was born from my own transformation. Alongside my corporate career as a Project Manager, I always loved fashion, but I eventually realized that dressing well isn’t about owning expensive clothes; it’s about understanding yourself.

Like many women, I had a wardrobe full of clothes yet often felt like I had nothing to wear. Once I started learning about body shapes, proportions, colours, and personal style, I experienced a complete shift not only in the way I looked but, more importantly, in the way I felt.

That personal transformation inspired me to become a Certified Personal Stylist and Image Consultant. I wanted to help other women stop feeling frustrated with their wardrobes and start feeling confident every single day.

That’s how Wardrob Editt was born. It isn’t just about styling clothes; it’s about helping people rediscover themselves, build confidence, and create wardrobes that genuinely reflect who they are. Every client is unique, and my goal is to make styling simple, practical, and empowering.

How do you differentiate between fashion, personal style, and image consulting?

Fashion is what is trending today. It’s constantly evolving with seasons, designers, and changing consumer preferences.

Personal style, however, is timeless. It’s the unique way you express your personality, lifestyle, values, and confidence through what you wear. It isn’t about following trends; it’s about discovering what genuinely suits you.

Image consulting goes a step further. It combines personal style with body language, grooming, colour psychology, communication, and professional presence. It’s about creating an authentic image that aligns with both your personal and professional aspirations.

At Wardrob Editt, I don’t believe in making everyone look the same. I help people discover a style that feels authentic, enhances their strengths, and supports the life they want to create.

Why do you believe personal style has such a significant impact on confidence and professional success?

The way we dress has a powerful psychological impact. When you feel good in what you’re wearing, you naturally stand taller, communicate with greater confidence, and leave stronger first impressions.

People often say, “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” but the reality is that first impressions are formed within seconds. Your appearance communicates before you even begin speaking.

Whether you’re attending a job interview, leading a meeting, networking, or meeting clients, your image reflects professionalism, credibility, and confidence.

However, dressing well doesn’t mean wearing expensive brands. It means wearing clothes that fit well, flatter your body, and genuinely reflect your personality. When your appearance aligns with how you want to be perceived, confidence becomes effortless, positively influencing both your personal brand and career growth.

Can you share a client transformation that has had a lasting impact on you?

The most rewarding transformations are never just about clothes; they’re about confidence.

One client approached me feeling completely disconnected from her wardrobe. She had spent years purchasing clothes that didn’t complement her body shape and had almost stopped enjoying getting dressed. She genuinely believed something was wrong with her body.

Once we identified her body proportions, colour palette, and personal style, everything changed. She didn’t need an entirely new wardrobe; we simply styled what she already owned differently and introduced a few carefully selected pieces.

A few weeks later, she told me she looked forward to getting dressed every morning and had started receiving compliments from colleagues and friends. What touched me the most was when she said, “For the first time in years, I feel like myself again.”

Moments like these remind me that styling is never just about fashion; it’s about helping people see themselves differently and regain their confidence.

How do you balance current fashion trends with each client’s individuality?

I always say that trends should serve you, not the other way around.

Before discussing clothes, I spend time understanding my client’s lifestyle, profession, personality, daily routine, comfort level, and personal goals. I also analyse their body proportions and existing wardrobe.

Only then do I create a personalised styling strategy. If a trend complements my client’s personality and body type, we’ll incorporate it. If it doesn’t, we simply leave it aside.

My philosophy is simple: when you dress according to who you truly are rather than who social media tells you to be, confidence becomes natural and effortless.

The goal is never to change someone’s identity; it’s to help them become the best version of themselves.

What is your long-term vision for Wardrob Editt, and what message would you like to share with women aspiring to become their most confident selves?

My vision for Wardrob Editt is to become one of India’s most trusted personal styling and image consulting brands, helping thousands of women transform not just their wardrobes but also their confidence.

I want to make personal styling accessible to everyday women, not just celebrities or influencers. Through one-on-one consultations, workshops, online programs, and corporate sessions, I hope to empower women to understand their bodies, embrace their individuality, and build wardrobes they genuinely love.

My message to every woman is simple:

Stop dressing to fit someone else’s standards. Your body is not the problem; the right styling can completely transform how you look and how you feel.

You don’t need a bigger wardrobe. You need the right wardrobe.

When you dress with intention and authenticity, confidence naturally follows. And confidence is the most beautiful thing anyone can wear.
