Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

My journey has been a tapestry woven with threads of resilience, self-discovery, and a relentless pursuit of personal growth. As a child, circumstances took me away from my parents and led me to rely on my own strength and determination from the tender age of 3, when I took on the responsibilities of self-care, managing my daily needs independently.

Upon reuniting with my parents after completing school, life presented an even more challenging chapter. At the age of 17, both my mother and father were diagnosed with cancer. This unexpected twist of fate thrust me into a role of immense responsibility. Despite being only 18, I became the provider, caretaker, and pillar of strength for my family.

Balancing the demands of work, attending to the needs of my family, and navigating the complexities of hospitals became my daily reality. The strain took its toll on my relationships, both with others and with myself. Yet, within this storm, I discovered an inner fire that fueled my transformation.

Amidst tears, frustration, and anxiety, a powerful realization emerged — I had the power to shape my own destiny. With unwavering resolve, I refused to be defined by circumstances. Every setback became a stepping stone, propelling me towards a life of my own design. The wounds that once weighed me down transformed into sources of strength and resilience.

Today, I stand as the architect of my own life, having unlocked the doors to a realm where my dreams manifest. My journey is not one of seeking sympathy but of inspiring others to face their own battles. I share my story to convey that within the depths of struggle lies the opportunity for profound growth.

How did you discover your passion? 

My passion found me in the depths of my struggle. While caring for my parents battling cancer, I hit a breaking point. In that dark place, I realized I had the power to shape my destiny. This awakening sparked a journey of self-discovery. Through tears and frustration, I uncovered a passion for helping others navigate their own challenges.

I learned valuable lessons about healing and prioritizing well-being. As I shared my experiences, I found joy in guiding others toward self-realization. My passion, born from adversity, is now a guiding light, leading me to conduct meditation retreats and workshops, therapy sessions inspiring others on their paths to self-empowerment.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

Despite facing numerous challenges, my resilience stems from a unique amalgamation of ancient Indian spirituality and modern psychotherapies. Grounded in the teachings of mindfulness and self-awareness from ancient practices, I’ve learned to find strength in the present moment. The philosophy of accepting the impermanence of life allows me to navigate challenges with a sense of equanimity.

Moreover, my journey as a psychologist has deepened my appreciation for the integration of modern psychotherapies. Drawing from emotional freedom techniques, I’ve developed cognitive resilience, enabling me to reframe adversity into opportunities for growth. Embracing positive psychology principles, I consciously choose optimism, fostering a mindset that propels me forward even in the face of difficulties.

My passion for helping others, rooted in ancient wisdom and contemporary psychology, serves as a driving force. Witnessing the transformative impact of combining mindfulness with evidence-based therapies fuels my commitment to guiding individuals towards their own resilience and self-discovery.

Additionally, the belief that hardships offer profound opportunities for personal evolution keeps me motivated, as I’ve experienced firsthand the alchemy of turning struggles into sources of strength.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

Undoubtedly, the unwavering strength and resilience demonstrated by my parents during their ten-year battle with physical and emotional turmoil have been the cornerstone of my daily motivation. Witnessing their warrior-like endurance, facing the relentless challenges posed by cancer, infused me with a profound sense of strength and determination.

In addition to my parents, the teachings of my guru’s (embodied and disembodied) ancient Indian spirituality have played a pivotal role in shaping my outlook. Drawing inspiration from the concept of “Dharma,” the duty to uphold righteousness, I am propelled forward by a sense of purpose in contributing to the well-being of others. The selflessness ingrained in this philosophy fuels my commitment to supporting those navigating their own struggles.

As a Psychologist, every individual I have guided on their journey to healing has become a source of inspiration. The resilience they exhibit in the face of adversity, coupled with the transformative power of amalgamating ancient wisdom with modern psychotherapies, reinforces my belief in the human capacity for growth and self-discovery.

Furthermore, the natural world serves as a silent yet powerful motivator. Reflecting on the cycles of nature and its ability to renew and rejuvenate, I draw parallels to my own life’s seasons—acknowledging that, like nature, I too can experience renewal and emerge stronger after challenging times. The synergy of these diverse sources of motivation forms a tapestry that guides me through the ebb and flow of life’s challenges.

Can you share more about the turning point in your life when you realized you had the power to shape your own destiny?

The turning point came when the weight of my responsibilities and the challenges I faced pushed me to my breaking point. I found myself in a dark and despairing place, but within that darkness, I discovered an inner strength that I never knew I had.

It was a realization that no matter the circumstances, I had the power to shape my own destiny. From that moment, I embraced the challenges as opportunities for growth and transformation.

Your journey took a unique turn towards exploring the fundamental functioning of the mind and consciousness. How did your experiences as a caretaker influence your perspective on mental health?

Being a caretaker for my cancer-stricken parents exposed me to the profound impact of mental health on one’s overall well-being. Witnessing their struggles ignited a curiosity in me to understand the mind’s intricacies and the role of consciousness in shaping our lives. This exploration has led me to share my knowledge and experiences, emphasizing the importance of mental health and self-realization in our journey.

What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person? 

In my journey of personal growth, several strategies have been instrumental in shaping who I am today. Firstly, my daily Sadhana, a spiritual practice designed by Sadhguru that serves as my anchor, provides a dedicated time for reflection and connection with my inner self. This routine brings a sense of grounding and resilience, nurturing my spiritual growth.

Another crucial element has been my engagement in Vipassana meditation. This practice, centered around observing sensations and gaining insights into the mind, has been transformative. It instills mindfulness, self-awareness, and emotional balance, offering a profound understanding of the workings of the mind.

Relentlessly creating inner dimensions has been a joyful part of my journey. Through activities like journaling and artistic pursuits, I consistently explore and express my inner world. This creative process fosters emotional resilience and a deeper understanding of my desires and fears.

Infusing kindness into every aspect of my life has played a pivotal role. Whether directed towards myself or others, kindness serves as a guiding principle, transforming challenges into opportunities for growth and cultivating a positive mindset.

Mindful reflection, supported by practices like journaling, has been essential. Regularly looking inward allows me to gain insights into my thoughts, emotions, and actions, fostering continuous learning and intentional decision-making aligned with my values.

In essence, these strategies, like pieces of a puzzle, come together to create a holistic approach to personal growth—nurturing my mind, body, and spirit. They not only have shaped my own transformation but also inspired my mission to guide others on their paths to self-discovery and well-being and empowerment.

You’ve evolved into a beacon of wisdom, sharing your insights with others. Can you tell us more about the workshops and retreats you conduct and the message you aim to convey?

My mission is to encourage self-inquiry and guide others toward an evolved way of living. I conduct private therapy and counseling sessions, sound healing retreats, mental health workshops, and erudite discourses to facilitate self-illumination.

I want to inspire individuals to break free from the cycle of ignorance-driven suffering and embrace a path of self-realization. The driving force behind my endeavors is the belief that everyone has the potential to lead a fulfilling and conscious life.

In your opinion, what are the keys to success?

In my view, the keys to success are multifaceted, but one powerful principle stands out—serving and contributing to others. It’s a win-win situation that unlocks numerous doors to personal and collective success.

When I think about success, it’s like this awesome journey, and one of the coolest keys I’ve found is helping out and contributing to others. It’s not just a one-way street; it’s this amazing cycle where giving a hand doesn’t just make someone else’s day—it opens up all these doors for your own wins too. Building connections and teaming up with people? That’s like having a bunch of teammates in the success game.

And hey, the learning part is crucial. Staying curious and being open to new stuff? That’s the secret sauce. Also, bouncing back from tough times and being flexible when things get a bit crazy—those are like superpowers for success.

Passion and purpose, my friend, they’re like the GPS for a fulfilling journey. When you’re doing what you love and it means something, success feels different—it’s not just about reaching a goal, it’s about enjoying every step of the ride. Keeping it real with integrity and ethics is key. It’s like building a solid foundation for success that lasts. And let’s not forget about having a positive vibe, being thankful, and throwing a mini party for every little win.

Oh, and the growth mindset? That’s like saying, “Hey, I’m up for anything, let’s keep getting better!” So, success, to me, isn’t just a solo gig—it’s about making a positive impact on others, turning the journey into this awesome, shared adventure.

Your journey involves not just personal growth but also a profound transformation in your approach to self-care. Can you share more about the lessons you’ve learned in prioritizing your well-being?

Certainly. One crucial lesson has been acknowledging my vulnerabilities and giving myself the time needed to heal. I’ve learned that self-care is not a selfish act but a necessary one.

Setting healthy boundaries and nurturing myself alongside caring for others has been essential. It’s about understanding that taking care of myself is not a compromise but a prerequisite for effectively supporting those around me.

What advice would you give to our readers?

Life can be a wild ride, right? Well, here are a few nuggets of contribution that might just make the journey a bit smoother:

First off, never, and I mean never, give up on yourself. Life might throw some crazy stuff your way, but trust me, you’ve got more strength inside you than you can imagine. Every stumble is just a setup for an even stronger comeback.

Taking care of your mind is just as important as looking after your body. It’s not a luxury—it’s basic self-care. If you’re feeling low or overwhelmed, reaching out for support isn’t a weakness; it’s a brave step toward healing. Remember, it’s totally okay not to be okay sometimes.

When life gets tough, see it as a chance to grow. Challenges are like those tough teachers who end up teaching you the most important lessons. Embrace them, learn from them, and watch yourself become stronger. Having a bunch of good folks around you is golden. Build yourself a support squad—friends, family, mentors. Having people who really care about you can make a world of difference when times get rough.

Be nice to yourself. Seriously! We’re often way too hard on ourselves. Treat yourself with the same kindness you’d give a friend going through a tough time. It’s called self-compassion, and it’s a game-changer.

Know when to say no. Setting boundaries is like putting on a superhero cape for your mental health. It’s okay to take a step back and prioritize what’s best for you.

And hey, celebrate the small wins! Life is a series of these tiny victories. So, when you nail something, no matter how small, give yourself a little pat on the back. It’s all about building that positive vibe.

Lastly, be present in the moment. Mindfulness, we call it. Whether it’s taking a deep breath or just enjoying the little things around you, it can make a big difference in how you feel.

Remember, life’s a journey, not a destination. Enjoy the ride, and take care of yourself along the way. You’re doing better than you think!

What message would you like to share with those who are facing their own struggles and challenges?

Embrace your challenges as catalysts for growth. Within the depths of struggle lies the opportunity for profound transformation. You have the power to shape your own destiny. Take the time to acknowledge your wounds, prioritize your well-being, and embark on a journey of self-discovery. When life tests your limits, rise above the storm, choose ease, and let your spirit shine. You possess within you the strength to create a life filled with purpose, fulfillment, and unwavering joy.

Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?

Life’s journey is not about reaching a destination; it’s a perpetual dance with the unpredictable. Every twist, turn, and challenge serves as a canvas for personal growth. In this ever-evolving adventure, I’ve found immense satisfaction and excitement.

As I navigate the path, transforming hardships into stepping stones, I realize the joy of becoming the architect of my own destiny. The wounds that once weighed me down are now badges of strength, and setbacks propel me towards a life intentionally designed. Amalgamating ancient wisdom with modern psychology, I find gratification in guiding others on their journeys to self-realization.

The excitement lies in the continuous journey of self-discovery, uncovering new facets of resilience, and the perpetual state of becoming.
