She is the founder of ‘Wellnesswidnilu’. Let’s learn more about her incredible journey, her background, and her advice for our growing community!

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Nilu:

Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

This is my second innings because I started my professional journey as a nutritionist cum life coach after 16 years of my marriage.

I was a free spirit before my marriage and it all turned out after my marriage when I got pregnant soon after marriage things changed when I delivered my first boy child with ‘Down Syndrome’”.

I was totally shattered but did not show my broken heart to anyone. I gathered myself and promised myself to make my son “independent”.

I attended many workshops, webinars and meetings. Being a pharmacist I had faith in medicines but my belief changed over time and shifted from medicines to “healthy eating”. After giving my full focus to making my son independent and my daughter, I thought to pursue a career in nutrition and dietetics.

I did my education in that field and in August’19 I opened my clinic. I did many more courses to gain up-to-date knowledge in my area and more than 500 clients benefited from me not only reducing their weight but reversing lifestyle diseases type 2 diabetes, thyroid, PCOD and autoimmune diseases.”

Again one more news from my father broke me down when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Then I did a cancer course from Pensylvinnia and John Hopkins University. I started to help cancer patients also though sometimes I was devastated. Meanwhile, when I was working with patients suffering from chronic diseases, I realized that health is not only dealing with the physical body, your mental health is the main key.

Then I learnt NLP and did a supercoach programme in that this course with some other therapies on mental health worked like the icing on the cake. My holistic framework is now giving my clients remarkable progress not only in their health but other areas of their life.

How did you discover your passion as a ‘Coach’?

To serve people suffering from health issues was always my passion but my son ignited the spark again after my marriage. Moreover, getting positive feedbacks from my clients always gives me a spur to do more in a health area.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

Empowering and challenging the myths, stereotypes about wellness journey to have self-awareness and courage to do their own therapy to live a life of respect, dignity and treat others with the same ethical principles is my drive to work in this field.

I believe in sharing Joy and that’s the first principle of Nilu Vasudev. I believe all people are capable of change. It is important to understand people are shaped by their childhood memories, fear , their believes and mindset.”

At ‘Wellnesswidnilu’ we envision a world in which all people have access to treatment that can help them improve their physical, mental and emotional health. Healing themselves first and then later promoting healthier families and communities.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

My life changed around when my pillars; my husband Ashu and my kids, Vinayak and Bhavni, graced it.

My husband always supported me and encouraged me to do whatever I wanted to do. My mother-in-law also supported me by taking care of my family. In this little time, I made my place due to not only the support but the love of my family. My friends push made me able to do this.

What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?

There are a few:

> Being mindful

> Always being resourceful

> Taking extreme ownership and responsibility for my actions Courage

> Ability to take risks & venture into uncharted territories.

> Always be “Responsible” i.e. your ability to respond in a positive way.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

I will say it straight that there are many factors but if you really have to have the key elements then to me these are the ones:

(a) Accepting and loving myself.

(b) Responsibility for my actions

(c) Standing up for myself

(d) Resourcefulness

(e) Curiosity

(f) Positive Attitude

(g) Taking massive action (execution) with consistency and belief

What advice would you give to our readers?

Be your own best friend first, because only a best friend knows the solutions and how to keep you happy and progressive.

You achieve, what your brain conceives”.

Your mind has endless power and potential that are sabotaged by your limiting beliefs, thoughts, fears, self-doubts, worry, procrastination, guilt and instant gratification. The best part is “you can change your mind to change your life”.

Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?

Getting great feedback from those who have been inspired through my social media content, through my coaching sessions/programs amps up my energy to deliver more value to them. Seeing shifts in them and in their journey makes it satisfying because I see their success as my success and their breakthroughs as mine.
