Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Ruchi:

We are aware of your contribution to the ecosystem, talk us through your background and your journey, please;

I did my schooling from Smt KC Gandhi School, Kalyan and further pursued my graduation in Human Development from Nirmala Niketan College of Home Science (Churchgate). After that, I did my post-graduation from SNDT University( Juhu Campus). I was always interested and passionate in knowing about how the human mind works, the thoughts how they come in the human mind which leads a person to behave in a certain way and so I was always inclined towards psychology since my early days so that is how I took this field and had a firm decision that I will one day I will make a career in this field.

To add to my skills and knowledge I completed a few more courses and was officially certified to practice them. Some of those courses are Arts-Based Based Therapy Course from Nirmala Niketan College of Home Science, Reiki Healer from Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Association, I also learnt Graphology, Signature and Drawing Analysis from Elevate Minds accredited to American Association of Drugless practitioners and I am also Certified Mindfulness Practitioner from the academy of modern applied psychology.

During my college days when I was in 12th grade, I got a scholarship and was selected so I got the opportunity to visit Japan for a period of one month in the year 2008  for a cultural exchange program where I understood Japanese Culture more in-depth, How Japanese People function their mindset and how they value certain aspects like punctuality, patience, Mindfulness which had led them to be a technologically an advanced country in the world and why Japanese people live a longer life and the secret behind their happiness.”

Also during my visit I met people from different countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, France, USA so it was like I got mini exposure of world with people from different countries across the globe so that also added curiosity to pursue this field.

What made you passionate about ‘Training’?

Helping others heal is truly my passion. My goal is to help people create optimistic, serene, harmonious and peaceful life in their personal life and professional space through my various services that are planned and customized as per the individual issues and needs so they can have a happy and vibrant life.

‘ARTZLLING’ is such a unique name; talk us through more about it, please. Our audience would also love to know what kind of problem you are solving?

Yes, very interesting question. So the Name ARTZLLING is derived from two words related to my field of expertise.

The word Art came from the course which I mentioned in the above section Arts Based Therapy and the worldling has come from the word Counselling so that is how its name as ARTZLLING is formed.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

I have a planner book for me where I plan my day well in advance the previous day about what I need to do the next day so I am very planned and organized.”

I also practice Yoga, Different Workout routines, Breathing Exercises and Pranayam under the guidance of a well-experienced fitness trainer who has 22 years of experience in fitness so she guides me very well and that also keeps me refreshed, energized and peaceful during the whole day.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

My parents are the biggest source of motivation in my daily life. They always gave me the freedom to follow my passion and are my strong pillars who support me.

Some Mentors who have been a source of my motivation in challenging times are Mr Mahendra G Chheda he always guides and shows me paths which I am not able to see.

Mr Basesh Gala’s tips which he shares are very helpful to me and Mrs Minal Gada. Her guidance, insights and ideas always help me to think and look from different perspectives.

And of course also thanks to a few close friends who have always been there in this journey who inspired and motivated me.

Please share with us, how do you motivate your clients?

Listening to the need of your client’s concerns is very important otherwise they cannot find their solutions so I help people to know how they think, feel and act as it determines how a person handles stress, anxiety, emotional imbalances, overthinking patterns, sleep disturbances caused due to personal and professional life that helps to relate to others and make healthy choices in life by using different therapeutic techniques that are customized and curated for people depending upon their problems in life which help to create a happy and vibrant life.

How difficult/challenging is it to create an awareness about mental health especially in Indian societies?

Good question! I am glad you asked this one.

Well, it is quite challenging to build awareness because it is still considered a bad thing and there is a stigma associated to it. People worry about what others would say if they get to know about your mental health issues and if they say they are visiting a mental health professional.

They will start calling you ‘MAD’. It is also because of this fear that people are sceptical about sharing their mental health issues in Indian societies. They don’t give as much importance to mental health as they give to Physical health.

Over the past 8 years, I have been trying to build awareness and educate people that it’s absolutely ok to have mental health problems. Taking care of it should be as important as physical health. We are now seeing some good results as people have started to acknowledge these things since the lockdown period and there is a good amount of attention from people towards the mental health field and mental health professionals.

What are the business mantras you have embraced as you sought to establish your success story?

Establishing trust and Credibility by using Entrepreneurship and Personal Branding Skills which I have learnt and still learning as it’s a never-ending process as every time you learn something new.

Getting the right opportunity and performing to the best of your capability when you get that opportunity.

Creating a wonderful network system by participating in different professional networking webinars, Exploring and joining networking groups that have strong influential people in it and using the social media platforms to the maximum capacity to reach out to more people.

What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?

There are a few:

1) Being mindful and Self Awareness

2) Upgrading and Updating myself with Whatever new things come related to mental health

3) Reading books and all the current world affairs with trending things that are going on globally

4) Ability to Experiment and take risks.

What about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?

Getting great feedback from those who have been inspired through my social media content, through my workshops, Training, 1:1 personal counselling helps me to keep up my energy to deliver more value to them. Seeing shifts in them and in their journey makes it satisfying because I see their success as my success and their breakthroughs as mine.

The month of May is celebrated as the mental health awareness month and I have posted a lot of quick self-care tips which are handy and easy to use. I had planned 31 such trips for the entire month.

Miss Malini (Malini Agarwal) came across them on my social media handles and she had been observing my social handles since the past few days and found those tips to be adding value to everyone’s life in tough times so she personally invited me to share those tips on her Facebook page Girl Tribe by Miss Malini, and also on an app Girl Tribe App by Miss Malini.”

So this was a wonderful opportunity I got and it benefited me a lot as everyone found the tips to be very useful since they applied in daily routine life and it worked very well for them so this was amazing credibility to my brand which helped me create recognition and gave me amazing opportunities.

You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?

I just love my work and I am very passionate about it which always helps me to be positive and motivated.

I also practice some self-care routines like eating my dinner before sunset I have been practising this for 12 years and quite use to it now, Practicing Affirmations, Writing Gratitude Daily and being thankful for all the good things that have happened in a day and also switch off my phone before sleeping and avoid screen time before sleeping this all things help me to stay grounded and keep going.

Taking breaks sometimes also helps me; when I don’t feel like taking any sessions, training for a few days and giving myself some time and space just be with myself.

Last but not least when I see my clients having that transformation and sharing their feedback about their journey through my counselling, training and workshops sessions is enough to keep me positive and motivated.

In your opinion, what are the keys to success?

Maintaining Discipline, Consistency and Giving Good Quality for all my services by giving my 100 % dedication to it.

What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?

Do SWOT Analysis i.e literally writing on a piece of paper what are your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats so this will help you to identify the key skills and personality traits required to succeed in any field.

Keep exploring and researching the current market trends as per your field of expertise and Be authentic and Innovative with implementing ideas; this will gradually come through consistent practice.
